Search was unsuccessful for Albert John Collings, the deer stalker who is missing in the upper reaches of the Whitcombe river, Westland. Another police search commences to-morrow. Collings, who is aged 30, is a labourer. The Greymouth police think that Collings reached his first camp on Septem ber 24, He left his dog chained there and set out for the next camp, five miles further back. There is no evidence that he reached the second camp. The police released the dog at the first camp after it had been chained for 16 days. The locality between the camps is rocky, precipitous and dangerous. The missing man’s relations have not been traced. Collings’ address is given a,s Hudson road. Lake Ellesmere.— Press Assn.
