Representatives of employers and workers in the bootmaking industry came to an agreement in the Conciliation Council at Wellington to-day. There will be preference for unionists. There is provision for the payment of overtime and a disputes and advisory committee, comprising two representatives from each side with an independent chairman, will be appointed in each industrial centre to whom disputes arising out of the award must be referred before going to the Court.— Press Assn,
