“I put it to you,’’ said Counsel for plaintiff to defendant in a judgment summons case heard at a Northern Court recently, “if you had not been a smoker for 50 years, as you say you have, you’d have been better off than you are?” Defendant smiled. “You can’t have your cake and eat it too, mister,” he replied. “My pipe has been worth a lot more to me than the bit of money I'd have saved if I’d not been a smoker.” “But,” urged Counsel, “you’d not only have saved money, you’d have enjoyed better health?” “Don’t you worry about my health,” sneered defendant. “I’m in the pink.
