CONCLUDING DAY’S RESULTS FAREWELL TO KINGCRAFT. Christchurch, Aug. 12. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s August meeting was concluded to-day. The weather was fine and the attendance good. The track was in fast order. The totalisator investments amounted to £26,298 10s, as compared with £31,049 for last year. The total for the meeting was £62,628 10s against £76,916 for last year. Results: l — — Handicap, 2 miles.— 6 Wilma Dillon (Tomkinson) 1, 1 Sunny Morn (Brice) 2, 13 Somerby (Alborn) 3. Also ran: 14 Brentlight, 8 Editor, 11 Wilbur White, 2 Sir Guy, 2 Sunny Bob, and Pluto (bracketed), 10 Tarndale, 7 George Rey, 3 Gunfire, 3 Ayrmont Chimes, 9 Cyone and Harvest Child (bracketed), 15 Steel All, 12 Dillon Logan, 5 Colorado. Wilma Dillon turned for home clear of Sunny Morn, Somerby and Gunfire, with the remainder close up. In a wonderful finish Wilma Dillo beat Sunny Morn by a neck with Somerby a similar distance away. Colorado was fourth. Time 4.29 1-5.

Addington Handicap, li mile.— 2 Biddy Parrish (Tomkinson) 1,5, Wrackler (M. Holmes) 2, 3 Ambition (King) 3. Also ran: 12 AH Peters, 3 Great Way (bracketed with Ambition), 6 Nelson Ata, 11 Quickfire, 7 Admiral Bingen, 10 Cannonball, 9 Fifa, 1 Huon Voyage, 13 Nelson Boy, 4 Stanley T., 8 Olive Nelson. Biddy Parrish followed Ambition into the straight with Wrackler and Fifa next. Biddy Parrish beat Wraekler by a neck in a grand finish, with Ambition four lengths away. Fifa was fourth. Time 3.23 3-5.

Islington Handicap, 1J mile.—3 Tactless (A. Holmes) 1, Wrecker (Tomkinson) 2, 9 War Paint (Davidson) 3. Also ran: 12 Nelsonian, 2 Silver de Oro, 4 Nimbus, 5 Gold Tinge, 6 Rokena, 10 Wild Guy, 11 Awaiti, 7 Kelp, 13 Erin’s Lynn, 8 Netta Oro, 14 Morrison. Wrecker moved up fast along the back and followed Silver de Oro into the straight with Tactless, Rokena and Netta Oro next. Tactless came through on the rails to beat Wrecker by a length. War Paint was half a length away and Kelp was fourth. Time 1.29 2-5.

Farewell Handicap, 1} mile.—7 Kingcraft (Withers) 1, 4 Rollo (Berry) 2, 1 Cranleigh (M. B. Edwards) 3. Also ran: 12 Colonial Boy, 10 Enawah, 5 Muriel de Oro, 13 Linkman, 2 Royal Silk, and Red Shadow (bracketed), 8 Delightful, 3 Glenrossie, 11 Great Logan, 6 Impromptu, 9 King Pointer, 14 Carmel. The order into the straight was Colonial Boy, Impromptu, Kingcraft Muriel de Oro, Delightful and Cranleigh. Kingcraft beat Rollo by a neck in a close finish with Cranleigh a length back third. Red Shadow was fourth. Time 2.41 4-5.

HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB ANNUAL REPORT Following is the annual report of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club: “The accounts cover six days racing on the club’s racecourse. Last year one of the meetings was held at Trentham. The consideration extended by the Government has materially assisted.
