HASTINGS WOMEN’S LEAGUE

HELP FOR UNEMPLOYED WOMEN AND GIRLS. A good start was niade in the Trades Hall yesterday morning, the donation from Mr Baird being used. Roach's and Westerman’s have both promised donations, which were to be utilised this morning. The girls are setting out on a canvass of the borough, enlisting sympathy in the form of any material which could be used up. Cotton, tangled silk, wool, material, old coats, trousers, sugar bags, old silk stockings, old wool jumpers, any scraps of material all can be utilised. The object of the League is to make the girls self-supporting, and teach them to become good wives and mothers in the future. All help will be gratefully accepted at the hall any morning in the week.
