WAIPUKURAU LADIES’ TOURNEY CHAMPIONSHIP TO PALMERSTON (Special Representative.) The annual tourney of the Waipukurau Ladies’ Golf Club which was one of the most successful yet held was concluded at the Maharakeke links yesterday. The championship was annexed by Mrs Collinson, of Palmerston North, the runner-up being Miss Upton, of Auckland. Mrs Tareha of Napier won the Maharakeke handicap, Mrs Weston of Heretaunga being second.

The committee wishes to thank the following for donating trophies.— Troph for junior bogey match, first day, Mrs Holden, also trophy for senior medal match, second day: trophy for junior medal match, second day, Mrs Muncaster; trophy for fourball match, Mrs Johnston; trophies for putting competition, Mesdames Hooper and Reid; trophy for junior medal round, first day, Mr. Gair. Results are as follows.— Senior Championship Semi Final. Mrs Collinson (Palmerston North) beat Miss Bernau (Napier) 6 and 4. Miss Upton (Auckland) beat Miss Guy (Palmerston North), 1 up at the 22nd. Final. Mrs Collinson beat Miss Upton, 5 and 3. Maharakeke Handicap. Semi Final. Mrs Tareha (Napier) beat Mrs Prescott (Takapau) 3 and 2. Mrs Weston (Heretaunga) beat Miss Dalgleish (Napier) 3 and 2. Final. Mrs Tareha beat Mrs Weston, 1 up at the 19th.

Four-Ball Bogey. Mrs Bendeich and Miss Main, all square. Mrs Hunter and Miss Laughman, all square. Mrs Hartland and Miss Robertson, all square. Mrs Knight and Mrs Russell, 1 down.
