DOMESTIC RABBITS.
(To tho Editor.) Sir, —Mr Rogers apparently fails to note that it is tho early holders of permits that I blame, not the Inspector of Live-stock. I will take the liberty of misquoting a portion of Mr Kogers’ letter, altering this part to my view: “It is the duty of every holder of a permit to keep domestic rabbits, either to refrain from selling live rabbits to any person not holding a permit, or to take care that the buyer is acquainted with the necessity of having a permit, and is made aware of the conditions of obtaining same.” I am at one with Mr Kogers in desiring an increase in Angora wool production but absolutely opposed to keeping without proper safeguards. My main desire in writing on this question is to make it as widely known as possible that a permit is required, and to try and prevent indiscriminate selling to people unaware of the restrictions. —Yours etc., PERPLEXED. Hastings, 7/7/32.
