Mrs H. M. Bishop has returned to Hastings after staying in Wanganui with her sister, Mrs W. J. Gardener. Mrs Waterworth left Hastings on Saturday for Wellington to be present at the marriage of her niece, Miss Nancy Pasley. The engagement is announced of Iris Ruth, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. C. Foster, of Napier, to Herbert Moore, only son of Captain nnd Mrs B M. Carpenter, of Masterton. Miss Holland, of Woodford House, is leaving Havelock North this week for a trip to Australia and elsewhere for a health recuperating holiday, returning in September. Miss Hoby will be in charge at Woodford House for that time. • • • This morning the wedding took place quietly at St. Matthew’s Church. Canon C. Mortimer-Jones officiating, of Mary Donaldson, only daughter of Mr and Mrs C. R. Donaldson, 809 Jervois street, Hastings, to Arthur John Davis, youngest son of Mr and Mrs W. J. Davis, Havelock North. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a becoming gown of mauve satin charmalaine with a hat and bouquet to tone. The bride and bridegroom leave later to-day for a iv'tcr tour of the North Island.
