HASTINGS SCOTS’ SOCIETY
PRESENTATION TO MEMBERS. LITTLE FUNCTION LAST NIGHT. Last night the Hastings and District Scots’ Society’s reel class, which was held in the Bandroom, was more in the form of a social than a reel class, the occasion being the presentation of a few r handsome gifts to Miss Hilda Horn and Mr. Tom Stewart, both members of the society, on the eve of their approaching marriage. There was a good attendance of the reel class which was largely augmented by members of the society. Between the dances, the following contributed items: Miss Penman, song; Miss Des Rorges, song; Mrs. Guthrie, recitation; Miss Youngson, song; Sir. T. B. McQuire, song. Miss Collins acted as accompanist. Dance music was supplied by Mrs. Duff, Mr. Lord and Piper McLeish. The duties of M.C. were ably carried out by Mr. Guthrie. The singing of “Auld Lang Sync’’ and three hearty cheers for the happy couple, brought a very pleasant gathering to a close.
