FRENCH POLICY
lIERRIOT MINISTRY’S DECLARATION. (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.) (Received 8, 10.20 a.m.) Paris, June 7. The Herriot Ministry’s declaration says: “The Government will do everything in its power to contribute to political easement, economic understanding and moral disarmament. Although it cannot allow reparations to be contested it is ready to discuss any projects and take any initiative that may lead to greater worM stability or honest, peaceful reconciliation.”
It adds: Within the framework of the League Covenant, the Kellogg Pact and the essential principles of M. Briand’s policy the Government favours all solutions, even partial, which, without compromising national security will allow of tho reduction of military expenditure. This will mark a step towards progressive, simultaneous and controlled disarmament.
The declaration promises economies and reforms to meet the deficit in the Budget.
