WAR RELIEF
HASTINGS BRANCH. FOR TN IGHTL Y MEETI NG. The fortnightly meeting of the Hastings Committee of the H.B. War Relief Association was held yesterday. Present: Messrs H. Holderness (in the chair), L. J. Mackersey, G. F. Roach and W. J. White. Leave of absence was granted to Mr W. Hart. Forty Returned Soldiers’ cases of various natures were considered and relief by way of grants to the extent of £CI 2/- granted. Recommendations for loans totalling £ll5 were made to the provincial executive of the association. A statement of payments and receipts for the month of May, showing grants to soldiers £74 10/4, grants to dependents of soldiers £lB 5/-, loans to soldiers £6 13/3, grants to soldiers on account of other societies £lO 19/3, and repayments received £l3B 2/8, was placed before the meeting and approved.
