CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES
“Everlasting Punishment” was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, Ist May.
The Golden Text was taken from Galatians 6:l—"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness.” Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible:—“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” (Psalm 1:1. 2.) The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Science text book: “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,” by Mary Baker Eddy. “Wo acknowledge God’s forgiveness of sin in the destruction of sin and the spiritual understanding that casts out evil as unreal. But the belief in sin is punished so long as the belief lasts.” “Through the wholechastisements of Love, wo arc helped onward in the march towards righteousness, peace, and purity, which are the landmarks of Science.” (pp. 497, 323.)
