OTTAWA
DATE OF CONFERENCE ALTERED TO SUIT SAILINGS. FREE STATE TO BE INCLUDED. (United Press Association—By CableCiqSjzfdoo (Received 1, 10.30 a.m.) Ottawa, March 31. The date of the opening of the Imperial Economic Conference at Ottawa has been changed from July 18 to July 21 to meet sailing conveniences, so the Hon. R. B. Bennett announced in the House of Commons on Thursday. At the same time, the Premier, in a lengthy statement, contradicted in emphatic terms in order to repair “the injury done to this country” a despatch in the Toronto “Star” to the effect that representatives of the Irish Free State might not be invited. “Only to-day,” the Premier said, “a cable has been received from the Minister of External Affairs for the Irish Free State, Mr. de Valera, thanking the Dominion for its hospitality and signifying agreement with the change of date.”
