SWEEPSTAKE WINNER
APPRENTICE IN INDIA. Calcutta, March 29. Fortune has smiled on Sidney Lane, a young Anglo-Indian apprentice, in a workshop at Jamshedpur, Bihar. The boy, who is earning less than 100 rupees (£7 10s). a month, has won £30,000, as he was the holder of one of the Irish sweepstake tickets on Forbra, which won the Grand National. Lane intends to take his family to England.
