AUTUMN TO RAVINE. LIMITED WINS PRESIDENT’S. Greymouth, March 30. The Westland Racing Club’s Easter meeting was favoured with brilliant sunshine. The track was fast. The attendance was poor and the totulisat or handled £4043 10/-, as compared with £6431 10/- last year. Results :— Trial Handicap.— 3 Lochard (Kipwan) 1,2 Verden (Brodie) 2, 1 Waraloon (A. E. Eastwood) 3. Also ran: 4 Camp. Won by a neck, third four lengths back Time, 1.9 4-5. President’s Handicap.— 2 Limited (Kirwan) 1, 4 Sagittarius (Messervey) 2, 1 Mataa (Jennings) 3. Also ran: 3 Full Crop. Won by three lengths, third back half a length. Time, 1.10 1-5. Express Trot.— 5 Sissisox (Phelan) 1,2 Dawn Sonoma (James) 2, 3 Chancellor Boy (L. Kirwan) 3. Also ran: 8 Merry Peter, Harold Bingen, 6 Swift Chimes. 1 Olson, 7 Dillonetic. Won by three lengths, third back one length. Time. 2.25. Autumn Handicap.— 1 Ravine (Young) 1, 4 Eaton Hall (A. Eastwood) 2,2 Gold Bag (Messervey) 3. Also ran: 5 Dainty Ways, 3 Royal Game, 6 Polthea. Won by three lengths, third back a head. Ravine led out from Eaton Hall and Dainty Ways. At the entrance to the straight Ravine was in front from Eaton Hall and Gold Bag. The favourite was never troubled and won easily. Dainty Ways was fourth. Time, 2.11 1-5. Rimu Hack. — 1 Solvear (Kirwan) 1, 2 Knockalong (Jennings) 2,2 Dutch Princess (Messervey) (bracketed with Knockalong) 3. Also ran: 3 Gold Arrow, 4 Lady Valkyrie. Won by one length, third back three-quarters of a length. Time, 1.5 3-5. Highweight.—3 White Doe (Humphreys) 1, 4 Coomassie (Messervey) 2, Coll (Young )3. Also ran: 2 Miss Mercia, 5 Rich Harvest, 7 Bright Spear, 6 Polthea. Won by half a length each way. Time, 1.30. Dominion Trot.— 2 Wargirl (McNeil) 1, 4 Allanora (Burrough) 2, 5 Chancellor Boy (L. Kirwan) 3. Also ran: 6 Olson, 8 Swift Chimes, 3 Guy Pointer, 1 Shawingan, 11 Binscarth. Won by three lengths, third back one length. Time, 3.34. Final Handicap.—2 Portray (Lee) 1, 1 Tip Tree (Jennings) 2, 4 Knockalong (Humphries) 3. Also ran: 3 Mataa 5 Pari, 6 Waralpon. Won by ,1 neck, third back a length. Time, 1.15 4-5.
