Record Harvesting. Working recently on a 75-acre paddock, of Hard Federation wheat, Mr Noel Barrett, of Vera, Narrabri, New South Wales, attempted to establish a one-duy world stripping recoid with two 91t. reaper threshers drawn by two tractors. A start as made at 6 a.in., and by 4 o’clock 600 bags had been taken off. Then a breakdown delayed operations for an hour and a-hall. The machines were pulled out of the crop at 8 p.m., after working in the moonlight, and the day’s tally for both reapers totalled 810 full bags of grain. The yield averaged 13 bags to the acre, and the grdin was a splendid sample. Four men and two boys were engaged in the task, and both tractors were refuelled while moving through the wheat, a truck carrying pumping apparatus to feed power kerosene. To date Millieent, in the south-east of South Australia, seems to have put up a world’s record for harvesting. A 12ft. Sunshine Auto header, on Air H. Folland’s farm, took off 532 bags of barley in 6$ hours. This one machine was manned by a driver and two men on the bag platform. The ; Mayor of Millicent signed a declaration to that effect. “NAZOL” is the scientific, common--ense remedy for that cold. Clears the bronchial passages.
