Prices of butter and cheese ruling in London at the close of the market last week are reported by the London office of the Dairy Board as follow: — Butter. Dutch.—Unsalted, 128/130/- (128/ 130/-). The board has also received advice from its agents in Canada as follows:— Butter: New York, 22 cents; Montreal, 27J cents. Cheese. New Zealand. —White 60/6 to 61/(60/61/-; March 24, 1931, 51/53/-); coloured, 61/62/- (61/62/-; March 24, 1931, 53/55/-); 60/6 to 62/- equals approximately 5 7-Bd. f.o.b. Australian.—White, 59/6 to 60/- (59/ 60/-); coloured, 60/61/- (61/-). .Canadian.—White and coloured , 68/ 72 to 74/- (68/72/-). The butter market closed slow last week. Retail prices in London w'ere: Danish. 1/3; New Zealand, 1/2 a lb. The Empire Marketing Board’s estimate of the stocks of all butters as at March 20 was 381,898 boxes, compared with 290,727 boxes a year ago.
