WEDDINGS
MILNE—LANSDOWN. On Wednesday evening last the Bev, D. J. Shaw (at St. Andrew’s Church) officiated at the marriage of Eleanor Mary Lansdown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Lansdown, Queen street west, Hastings, to Thomas John Milne, son of Mrs. it. Milne, Victoria street. The service was fully choral, Miss Airini Lock playing the wedding marches and hymns; the church had been prettily decorated with white asters aud ferns.
The bride was given away by her father, and she wore a bridal gown of white celanese satin, ankle length, with a closely fitting bodice and flared skirt. A beautifully embroidered veil with a bandeau of orange blossoms, and a bouquet of white dahlias, pale pink carnations, roses, and maidenhair fern completed her ensemble.
Miss Phyllis Lansdown, sister of the bride (chief bridesmaid) and Miss Kitty Milne, sister of the bridegroom, wore charming frocks of satin. The former’s was of apricot satin with a closely fitting bodice cut to a deep peak at the front and back with a flared skirt and hat and shoes to tone and Miss Milne’s frock was similarly made of pale blue satin. Both carried bouquets of flame dahlias and maidenhair fern, and wore the bridegroom’s gifts, gold armlets. Mr. P. Hutchinson carried out the duties of best man, and Mr. J. Cameron was groomsman.
Mr. and Mrs. Lansdown entertained relatives and friends later at the Favourite Hall, where the wedding breakfast was set by friends of the bride, the tables being prettily decorated, with a wedding bell over the bridal table. The usual toasts were honoured.
The bride’s mother, Mrs. Lansdown, wore a navy blue crepe-de-ehine frock, with hat to tone, and a bouquet of zinnias and maidenhair fern.
Mrs. Milne’s gown was a model of crepe-de-ehine with coatee effect, shoes and hat to tone, and bouquet in autumn tinted zinnias and maidenhair fern. Later the bride ami bridegroom left for a tour of the North and South Islands, the bride wearing a smartly cut navy blue crepe-de-chine ensemble with a navy blue coat trimmed with fur, and shoes and hat to tone.

Kirkman, Mr. and Mrs. H. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. J. Curtis, Mr. and Mrs. T. Harper, Mrs. W. Harper, Miss P. Johnston, Mrs. W. Will, Mrs. Milne (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. F. Harris, Mr. and Mrs. A. Murdoch (Napier), Mr. and Mrs. G. Lansdown, Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Miss Hyslop, Mr. and Mrs. R. Lansdown, Miss Reegan and others. Many handsome presents were received by the bride and bridegroom. The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a set of military brushes, and the bridegroom gave the bride a fur necklet. Dancing was kept up at the reception till a late hour, music being supplied by Messrs. Henry, Sorenson and Cameron.
