SWAMPING VICTORIAN MARKET. MOVE FOR AN EMBARGO. Sydney, March 29. At the New South Wales oyster conference a move was made to secure au embargo against the importation of New Zealand oysters, which are at present flooding the Melbourne markets at prices with which New South Wales oyster men cannot compete. The annual report pointed out that, while there is an embargo on New South Wales oysters entering the New Zealand market and as a consequence many local oyster growers have for. saken leases and gone on the dole, New Zealand oysters are swamping the Victorian market.
