AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS CRAWFORD WINS SINGLES Adelaide, February 14. The Australian tennis championships were played yesterday. In the men’s singles Crawford (New South Wales) retained the title after a gruelling battle with Hopman (Victoria), 4—o, 6—3, 3—o, 6—3, 6—l Junior singles.— McGrath (New South Wales) beat Quist (South Australia), 6—4, 6—2. Women’s singles.—Mrs Buttsworth (New South Wales) beat Miss Lo Mossurior (South Australia) 9—7, 6—4 Mixed doubles.— Crawford and Mrs Crawford beat Satoh and Mrs O'Hara Wood, 6—3, B—6, 6—3. W’omen’s doubles.— Mesaame* Craw, ford and Buttsworth (New South Wales) beat Misses Le Messurier and Weston (South Australia), 6—2, 6—2. Men's doubles.— Crawford and Moon beat Patterson and Hopman, 4 —6, 6—4, 12—10, 6—3.
