WINGATUI GALLOPS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Feb. 10. At Wingatui this morning the trestles were 35 feet out from the rails. The going was good. A keen wind up the straight steadied the horses in the run home, and was against fast times. Admiral Drake and Royal Limond were sent over seven furlongs, running the first three in 38 3-ssecs., and the full journey in 1.34. Silver Salver ran five furlongs in 1.7 3-5. He had a lot of weight up. Anne Shakespeare easilj accounted for Solmuri over five furlongs in 1.7 2-5. Ramo was given three-quarter pace work on the plough. Cricket Bat was slow to move off from near the sevenfurlong post, and was timed from the six-furlong post. He ran the first furlong m 12 l-ssecs., two in 24 2-5 secs., three in 38secs., the half-mile in 52secs., and the full journey in 1.20 1-5. Princess Argosy reeled off five furlongs in 1.4 2-5. Gesture did six furlongs, the last five in 1.7 3-5. Ranelagh was keen to improve his pace throughout over six iuriongs, which occupied 1.22 3-5. Ball Dress, who blew badly, took 1.7 to run five furlongs. Silver Ring just headed Oratorious, with Rocket three lengths away, over four furlongs run on the rails in 52 2-ssecs. Traylaval was going better than Fine Weather over four furlongs in 52 2-ssecs>. Stutter and Jayson’s Quest finished together over five fui longs in 1.5 2-5. Gay Crest and Martian Chief were companions over seven furlongs, the last six taking 1.20 3-5. Morepork was sent over a mile with Babel, but the latter was always doing it better, and the middle four furlongs were run m 51secs.
Trek was given a couple of rounds on the plough at half pace. Chief Right was finishing on better than The Quorn over half a mile in 53 4-ssecs. Golden King and Adult took 1.10 4-b to run five furlongs, the last half-mile in 52 4-ssecs. Fair Exchange and Colonel (Nanus ran the same course in 1.7. Night Arch was given a couple of circuits on the plough and moved well. Shortly ran six furlongs in 1.24 4-5, the last five in 1.11 4-5 Royal Saxon pulled hard over two circuits at half pace work on the plough. Gold Paper ran half a mile in 52 l-ssecs. Fair Weather finished a circuit on the plough by sprinting home the last three furlongs in 39secs. Glenrowan was sent a mile and a quarter at half pace, sprinting home tho last half-mile in 65secs. Master Anomaly, with a lot of weight up, was sent two circuits on the plough at half pace. Palermo sprinted down the straight attractively after a couple of rounds of slow work. Balance worked a full circuit on the plough track, and sprinted home well. Some Acre was given strong work on the plough. First Song just had Academy’s measure over five furlongs in 1.21. Al Jolson took 1.1 to run the last five of a six-furlong gallop. Silver Paper was given a couple of rounds on the plough. Blue Metal was given slow work. Red Racer sprinted home fast after a circuit on the plough. Terra Firms ran the last three fur longs of a circuit on the plough in 39secs. Rational 11. took 58secs. to run the final half-mile of a circuit. Tippling ran half a mile in 53 4-ssecs. Matu gave an excellent exhibition of a round of the steeplechase fences.
