BROADCASTING PROGRAMMES SUGGESTION FOR CONTROL. if COMMISSION TO BE APPOINTED. (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.) (Received 10, 9.55 a.m.) Melbourne, February 10. The Federal Cabinet has decided that a commission to control broadcasting programmes be appointed.
ANOTHER HARBOUR FATALITY. (Received 10, 9 55 a.m.) Sydney, February 10. Richard Campbell, aged 45, was killed when he fell 300 feet from a harbour bridge pylon. Seven men have now lost their lives in the construction of the bridge. Campbell's body was smashed beyond recognition, every bone being broken CATTLE POISONED BY MINT. (Received 10, 9.50 a.m.) Brisbane, Febrary 10. Of a mob of 575 bullocks which left Eskdale Station for Goondwlndi, 230 died in tfie Pittworth district. Many others show signs of being poisoned This is believe? to be the result of eating mint, which grows along the stock routes, and which is poisonous at certain periods. Mr Willis says that the holder of a large parcel of bonds informed him that he had every sympathy with New South Wales, which was a victim of world conditions, but it was useless to talk of a moratorium while the Commonwealth was still likely to meet the interest He added that Mr Lyons’s promise to pay without more specific detail than ‘‘as soon as possible'” was hampering bis approach of bond-holders.
