Salvador Rising. Unconfirmed private despatches received in New York said that several thousand persons were killed in the last few days in the uprising in Salvador. British Seamen’s Wages. The Mantimo Board has agreed to a reduction of the wages of sailors and firemen and catering department employees of foreigngoing vessels of 18s monthly, and home trade vessels 6s ■weekly. The reduction of some of the low ratings is proportionately smaller. The Waterloo Bridge. The London County Council has been informed that if they decide to replace the Waterloo Bridge across the Thames with a new one carrying six lines of traffic the Government would make a grant of 60 per cent, of the cost. U.S. Pilot Killed. Eddie Stinson, doyen of American aviation pilots and chief civilian instructor of American Army pilots during the world war, died of injuries received when an aeroplane which he was testing in the dusk struck a tall flagpole and crashed to the ground, seriously injuring three others.
