WORLD’S HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE SCHMELLING AND WALKER. New York, Dec. 27. Max Schmelling will defend the heavyweight boxing title against Mickey Walker at Miami, Florida, in the last week of February under the auspices of the Madison Square Garden Corporation. The articles will be signed on Tuesday or Wednesday. Joe Jacobs, Schmelling’s manager, announced that he also plans another title defence in June or September against either Dempsey or Sharkey. PALMER DEFEATS THORNTON. DECISION ON POINTS. Palmerston N., Dec. 28. Ambrose Palmer obtained a points decision against Bob Thornton in a 15-rounds contest this evening.
