“HOMEWARD BOUND”
ADVERTISING DAIRY PRODUCE. London, Not. 10. A rather ingenious and attractive display is now to be seen in the main show window of New Zealand House, in the Strand This has been arranged by the Dairy Produce Board in cooperation with rhe Publicity Department. Cheeses and butter are displayed to frame an interesting scene of a homeward bound liner. Over the top are the words- “Homeward-bound from New Zealand’s sunny pastures.” The liner, well painted, actually remains still, and the rising and falling sea, and the smaller vessels tossed by the rollers pass rapidly by the ship. An effective delusion is obtained of the ship itself rising and falling on the waves and dashing rapidly past the smaller craft.
Six illustrations surround the diorama. These show the cows in the delightful New Zealand hill country, the lorry carrying produce to the country station, the train, the ship, the shop, and, finally, the little family enjoying the best New Zealand, butter at their table.
