A Singapore cable reports that Colonel Brinsmead’s condition is unchanged. Sir Francis Boys, of Christchurch, who has been on a business trip to England, returned yesterday by the Mataroa. Archdeacon Robert Augustus Woodthorpe, for some years professor of economics at the University Cbllege of Otago, but who had lived privately at Waverley, Sydney, for the past six years, died on November 27 in Sydney at the age of 70 years. Recently. retired from the command of the White Star liner Olympic, one of the best known passenger steamers in the Atlantic service. Captain G. E. Warner arrived by the Mataroa yesterday on a holiday trip to New Zealand. He was accompanied ny his wife, whose home town is Dunedin. Captain and Mrs Warner intend to spend most of their six months’ holiday in Dunedin. It is the first time they have visited New Zealand for 30 years.
