PUNISHMENT OF DB. KOO DEMANDED. DISCONTINUANCE OF NEGOTIATIONS WITH APAN. Shanghai, Dec. 8. The number of students striking was swelled to-day to 60,000. The strikers declare that unless Chiang Kai-shek satisfies the demand for the punishment of Dr. Wellington Koo and discontinues direct negotiations with Japan within 24 hours they intend to declare a general labour strike and interrupt all communications. Meantime the whereabouts of Dr. Koo are kept a profound mystery. Although martial law up to the present has not been declared, tho authorities believe they have the situation will in hand.
