Many Queensland rivers are now In high flood. Railway washaways have disorganised the mail services from Roma to Injune. The train was forced to return, hs the water was three feet over the rails. Three hundred and fifty points of rain fell in 15 minutes at Byrmont. On this line four inches fell in 45 minutes. At Toowoomba tho channel* in the city are unable to carry away the huge volume of water and the city is flooded. Business promises have suffered severely, fences have been washed away and gardens ruined. The Brisbane-Toowoomba railway line is blocked owing to a serious landslide.
