FIRE BOARD

MEETING AT WAIPUKURAU. The quarterly meeting of the Waipukurau Fire Board was held last evening, Mr. VV. G. Bryce presiding over Messrs E. J. Turner, R. McLean, E. J. Hall and W. Watson. The superintendent reported that there had been one alarm since last meeting, this being a hedge fire, caused probably by a lighted match. The fire losses for last month had been nil. The attendances at brigade practices was satisfactory and the equipment was in good order. A resolution was passed extending seasoning greeting to the brigade, and a donation of £2 2/- made.
