Flight-Lieutenant George Stainforth, the world’s fastest and most fearless airman, has been appointed at his request to a post which means that every time he goes into the air he will risk his life for a wage of about £1 a day. Lieutenant Stainforth has been sent by the Air Ministry as test pilot at Farnborough, in England. There his job will be to test all the latest speed and safety devices. The first wedding to take place for 16 years in the little thirteenth century church at Grove, Buckinghamshire, was celebrated there recently.
