SITUATION IN WELLINGTON. SPFC.TAT, SESSION URGED TO DEAL WITH POSITION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Dee. 7. On behalf of relief workers, the secretary of the General Labourers’ Union, Mr. P. M. Butler, has sent the following telegrams to the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes and the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates: “In view of tho serious situation arising in Wellington owing to the Hospital Board not being able to meet the claims of unemployed workers and grant them relief, wo earnestly request you to call a special session of Parliament in order to meet the situation, as the position is critical.” A message to similar effect was also sent to Mr. H. E. Holland.
