(Before Messrs. F. C. Wilkinson and Foster-Brook, J.P.’s). TODAY’S PROCEEDINGS. John Cosgrove was charged with being found drunk, this being the fourth occasion within six months. Senior-Sergeant O’Neill said that tnc defendant was a good worker if he left drink alone. He had a lengthy list of convictions, all relating to his drinking habits. “There’s not. much we can do tor you,” commented the Bench after viewing the list. A fine of £5 was imposed, and the defendant was advised to take out a prohibition order. William Stanlev Williams was charged that on May 2, 1927, at Wellington, being a duly articled seaman on the S.S. Ruapehu, he did desert such ship. On the application of Senior-Sergeant O’Neill, ho was remanded to appear at Wellington next Friday. George John Williams was convicted and discharged on a charge of drunkenness, and sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment on a ' argc of committing an offensi' act in Karamu road.
