HAVELOCK NORTH

NEWS AND NOTES. A friendly game of cricket has been arranged for the week-end between the Havelock Buffalo Lodge and a Waityawa eleven. H. Ladbrook presided over a good attendance of members at a general meeting of the Football Club on Thursday evening. The balance sheet revealed a very satisfactory state of affairs. An amount of £l6 stands to the club’s credit. Two players who had been injured during the season were voted 25/- and expenses and £2 respectively. The work of the secretary, Mr. Geo. Hook, the treasurer, Mr. Frank Newrick, and also of Mr. O. Upton, Waipawa, is to be recognised by the presentation to each of a framed photograph of the teams. The Upton-Newrick Cup was won by the club, and a good record of wins goes to the club’s credit. It was decided not to hold the usual wind-up dance this year, but to hold one early in the next season.
