GENERAL NEWS. The annual general meeting of the Takapau Golf Club drew a record attendance of members which could be regarded as a tribute to the excellent manner in which the club captain, Mr C. C. Callender, had steered the affairs of the club during the past year. Prior to commencement of business a vote of condolence with the relatives of the late Mrs Sydney Johnston, patroness of the club, was proposed by the chairman and carried in the customary manner. The report and balance sheet for the year were read and received, the latter showing a substantial credit balance. Mr Caughley proposed a vote of thanks to the club captain, Mr C. C. Callender, and Mrs Cuthbertson proposed a similar vote to the honorary secretary, Mr W. McKee, for the efficient manner in which affairs had been attended to during the past season. Office bearers for the esuing year were elected as follow: —Patroness, Mrs J. B. A’Deane; president, Mr 11. W. White; vice-presidents, Mrs Holden, Mrs J. C. Rolliston, Mr C. H. St. Hill; club captain, Mr C. C. Callender; viceclub captain, Mr H. H. Edwards; hon. secretary, Mr W. McKee; hon. auditor, Mr W. Cuthbertson; general committee, Messrs J. Caughley, G. S. White, Commander Tollemaehe, W. Davies, W. Cuthbertson and S. Ropata; handicappers, Messrs G. 8. White and C. C. Callender; green committee, Messrs S. Ropata and C. J. Smith. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the ladies for the support given during the year.
