WHEAT OIL
A CHRISTCHURCH CLAIM REMEDY FOR DEBILITY. COMMENT FROM LONDON. (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.) (Received 5, 12.25 p.m.) London, Dec. 4. Dr. Norman Haire stated that the value of the Christchurch doctor’s claim to have discovered wheat oil capable of remedying debility of childlessness depended on the presence of a vitamin with rejuvenating properties already recognised in wholemeal bread, which had long been prescribed for cases where vitality and fertility were low. The discovery might be important in permitting larger quantities of this vitamin to be taken in a concentrated form, obviating the necessity for eating several loaves. ]t was not likely to supersede the Voronoff and Steinach glandular treatments, as the latter gave wider and more sustained effects.
