STATESMEN’S OPPORTUNITY

STIMULATING EMPIRE CO-OPERA-TION. London, Dec. 2. Mr S. M. Bruce, formerly Prime Minister of Australia, in a speech at the Royal Empire Society, said statesmen of the Empire were presented with the greatest opportunity any nation had for stimulating greater interImperial and economic co-operation. “The two most important men in Britain to-day, after the King, are Mr Bennett and Mr Bruce,” said Lord Stonehaven, speaking at a Conservative dinner in his honour. He added: “I am sure Mr Bruce will be Prime Minister again. We are in a deuce of a hole, but we shall get out if we collaborate with the dominions.”
