As a diversion from the usual club games, a “yankee’’ tournament is being held and promises to be most interesting. As it is unlikely that the tournament will be finalised in one night only the first and second rouuds will be decided to-night, the semi finals and final being left over until next Monday. In addition a consolation match will be played off for the benefit of those who are unfortunate enough to be eliminated in the first round, thus enabling them to have as many games as the rest of the members. The draw for the first round is as follow:—

Miss L. Lancaster and R. Wiggins plays Mrs. Moore and L. Spurdle. Miss M. Kemp and L. Lancaster plays Miss M. Sowersby and V. Fletcher. Miss O. Nelson and L. F. Tayler plays Miss G. Tucker and O. Rowlauds. Miss C. Taylor and N. Tucker plays Miss M. Fear and I. Moran. Miss G. Dalmon and J. O’Neill plays Miss W List and C. Bartie. Miss G. Sisson and H. Paynter plays Miss S. Rose and R. Mardon. Mrs. Dransfield and W. Irwin plays Miss L. Paterson and G. E. Jones. Miss G. Sanders and W. G. Jones plays Mrs. Mardon and L. Wright.
