RUGBY FOOTBALL
BBBBINGTON SHIELD GAME. BUSH DEFEAT DANNEVIRKE. Pahia, tua, Aug. 5. At Rugby Bush retained the Bebbingt.on Shield, outplaying Dannevirke by 14 to nil. The weather was fine, but the ground was heavy and sticky. The first spell was very even and was confined purely to the forwards, who were well matched. The Bush vanguard dominated practically the whole of the second spell. The forwards wore down the defence, allowing the backs to round off pretty movements. Galvin, the Bush rover, was the most outstanding player on the ground, being responsible for several clever tries. Mahoney and S. Olliver were prominent all the way. The tries for Bush were scored by Aitcheson, Hope, Welland and Reeves, and Mabey converted one. The visitors fielded the best all-round team for many years. ' WAIRARAPA AGAIN BEATEN.
