The cabled report of the crashing of the light aeroplane Southern Cross Junior, near Sydney, gave the initial of the pilot. Palmer, who, with A. E. James, was killed, merely as J. It appears now that the pilot was 1.. J. Palmer, who. as a forward, toured New Zealand with the New South Wales Rugby team of 1925.
