MARDI GRAS
THE NAPIER FESTIVAL. RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS. The Mardi Gras festival was continued in Napier on Saturday afternoon and again in the evening, when large crowds were present, especially for the evening session. The fun reached its height in the evening, when many made the most of the coolest part of the day. Frivolity and enjoyment reigned everywhere, young and old joining in the merrymaking. The children’s events in the afternoon were well patronised, and some pretty costumes were seen.
