ANNUAL PICNIC HELD. The annual picnic of the Hawke's Bay Fruitgrowers' Association was held yesterday, when about 300 people journeyed on the special tram, lhe tram proceeded first of all to the railhead at Putormo and stayed there for about an hour while the party inspected the viaduct over the Waikare Gorge. All then returned as far as SandyCreek, and tlie picnic was held on Mr Grant’s property at Tutira. Several committeemen had left the train while it was on its way to the railhead, and when the party arrived lunch was ready in the bush beside the creek. Mr A. E. Jull. M.P. for Waipawa, was among those present. The train arrived back in Hastings at about 5.45 p.m., everyone having spent a most enjoyable day.
