LONDON WOOL SALES. CLOSE GE THE SERIES. I United Press Association—By Cable—"opvi'luht.l ..London, Dec. 13. At the wool sales 10,055 bales were offered, it eluding 3,013 from New Zealand. Approximately 70C bales were sold. Now Zealand greasy crossbreds: Waipura 7Jd and 7d. Tututomari. GJd and Gfil. The number of bales catalogued fei the .-erics was 126,295 sold borne 51,500. CoiTtinent 59,000; held over, of which 57,009 was not offered, 00,000, including 23,00 Australian and 41,500 New Zealand. The main feature of the sales was tnc genciaj confident bidding throughout, with a gradual improvement in tone. Merinos fine maintained u very firm ievel. Average combings were somewhat irregular, mostly about five per coat below opening rates, but scoured made high prices. Average lots declined five per eent and carbonising sorts were urchanged. Crossbreds, all greasy sorts, met strong competition and mostly recovered five per Cent, from the opening. Scoured slipes were well competed for at generally five per cent higher. Lambs (good) were unchanged, and •■hort and faulty declined five per eent.
