TEAMS MATCH OKAWA v. WAIPUKURAU. FIRING AT MOUNT VERNON. At the Mount Vernon range on Saturday the Waipukurau Defence Rifle Club fired the second round for Mr. A. W. Parsons’ trophy, conditions being 10 shots at 500 and 600 yards. A rear variable wind made shooting difficult, scoring being only moderate. Rifleman F. N. McVicar was again in form, scoring 90 off the rifle, and he was closely followed by the veteran J. R. Atkins. Details

Ln a friendly teams match against the Okawa Club, held on the Mount Vernon range, the Okawa A team was successful with a score of 443. They were closely followed by Okawa B's with 441. Rifleman T. Rosenberg, a young shot, had the credit of topping the scores with 95. A very tricky wind and changing light made the task of the coaches most difficult. Details are as follow: —

OKAWA DEFENCE CLUB. TROPHY SHOOT ROUND. Over the week-end at Roy’s Hill range the Okawu Rifle Club fired the first round for a trophy very kindly presented by Mr. E. A. Grenside; ten rounds at 300 and 600 yards. Shooting conditions were absolutely ideal and it is pleasing to note that the usual good standard of marksmanship was upheld. The only noteworthy performance was that of President W. J. Green's exceptional shoot at 300 yards, he returning a card of 47 with an inevitable “maggie” for his second shot. NAPIER DEFENCE CLUB. MR. P. EDDY’S TROPHY. On Saturday afternoon the members of the Napier Defence Rifle Club fired for a trophy presented by Secretary P. Eddy, and also a sweepstake for a Christinas hamper. Twentv members toed the mark and no fewer than four tied for the trophy with 93. H. Pedersen collects with the best score off the rifle at both ranges. He also takes the ladder badge for best shoot of the day. In the sweepstake five had to shoot off. which ended in J. Manssen being first, J. T. Hawkins second and II. Pratt third. Following are the scores yds yds 11.
