FIRE BRIGADE MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Havelock North Fire Brigade was held at the Fire Station last evening. Supertintendent Toop presiding <jv, r a good attendance. Deputy-Sum i -ii;tendent Marven and Fireman Miller were presented with their two-year service bars, and Firemen Leicester and A. T.ooo with three-yeur cuit - ficates. The resignation of Fireman Butler was received with regret. Tie brigade wishes to thank Mr. J R. MacLennan for a donation of £1 1,towards the funds. SCOUT COMMITTEE. The usual monthly meeting of tbe Havelock Scout Committee was held in tho school room last evening. Owing to the visit to New Zealand of the (Chief Scout in the ear ly part of next year, it was decided that the annual camp would not be held. However, there will be several week-end camps. It was decided to write t i Capt. Dunlop, thanking him for hn assistance in helping to run the troop, and stating that in future tin y wish to co on without outside help. It was also decided to apply for an assistant scoutmaster’s warrant for Troop Leader S. Duke who. with tho assistance of Cub Master R. Jell, will take control of tbe troop. A very useful trek-cart has been presented to the Scouts by Mr, L. Drummopd SWIMMING. The following handicaps have been decided upon for to-morrow night’s carnival:— Ladies, 25yds.—Miss G. The pupils of Standard 6 of the Havelock School, under their master, Mr. Nelson, paid a very interesting visit to the Hcretaunga Dairy Factory at Stortford Lodge yesterday. The work of the Havelock Domain improvement scheme is in full awinc. several men being employed in levelling the ground with tractor end scoop.
