WAIPUKURAU SALE FAIRLY LARGE CATTLE ENTRY. SMALL FAT SHEEP OFFERING. There was only a moderate attendance at the weekly stock sale today, when a lairly large entry ci cattle came forward, mostly stores. Dairy stock was conspicuous by its absence. The offering of tut sheep was small, and only one line of stores came forward. Bidding lacked animation, passings being more frequent than usual. Fat Cattle; Weighty P.A. oullock £8 15s, 2 light prime P.A. cows £7 IPs Od 2 ditto, but lighter. £7 Gs; Jersey heiter, light prime, £4 7s 6d; P.A. steer £0 lbs, 3 Red Poll heifers of good quality passed at £3 15s, and 6 unfinished P.A. heifers passed at £5 8s 6c Store Cattle: 30 young empty P.A. cows in tail- condition, ou behalf of C. Giblin. £4 Ils; 24 empty P.A. heifers, in good condition, £3; 48 P.A. yearling steers, on behalf of D. H. Rickey £3 Is; mixed lot of 4 light Hereford cross steers ranged from £2 2s 6d to £4 10s; 8 P.A. cows, well conditioned, £4 12s; 2 empty light Hereford cows £2 19s, Jersey and Hereford cross ditto £2 4s, P.A. cross ditto £2 5s 2 Friesian cross heifers £l, P.A. heifer food condition (proceed for Waipukurau Hospital). £5 (grazed by C. Giblin). Passings included 40 P.A. Hereford cross steers £5 10s (good line three-year-olds), 6 P.A. heifers, almost killable, £5 8s fid; 4 medium P.A. steers. £5 15s, 12 yearling P.A. steers, attractive line, £3 10s; 2 Friesian cross heifers £1 10s, 4 P.A. heifers £1 2s Od. A Herefoid bull sold for £2 17s 6d. and 2 yearling Jersey bulls, of good quality, passed at £3 ss. Sheep: 103 fat shorn 2-tooth wethers, well rounded off, passed at 15s fid, and 5 prime maiden ewes at 12s Od; 63 4-tooth to 6-tooth ewes and 59 lambs, a good line of Southdowns and Corriedales, passed at IBs, 15s being wanted.
