According to a telegram received by her mother, the aviatrlx, Mrs. Miller, is safe. THRILLING FORCED LANDING. I United Press Association—By CableCopyright.l New York, Dec. 1. A niessago fioin Nassau (Bahamas) states that Mrs. Miller arrived today. She made a thrilling forced landing in a gale on Friday at Andros Island, in the Bahamas. Mrs. O. S. Beveridge stated that she received a telegram from her daughter from Nassau, saying that she was safe, and asking that friends be notified. A previous message Stated:—Mrs. Keith Miller’s husband, who is a Melbourne “Herald” journalist and is at present holidaying in Sydney, is still hopeful that the missing aviatrix will be found alive. He thinks that site mav have landed in th e Everglades of Florida or have been picked up by a small boat. SPECIAL “SMITHY” STAMP. A special postal stamp is being issued by the Commonwealth Postal Department to commemorate the aviation achievements of Air Commodore Kingsford .Smith, The basis ot the design will be the two hemisperes witu an aeroplane circling above. A message from Burbank (California) states that Ruth Nichols Ryeny, the society woman aviator wtio set the woman’s trans-continen-tal speed record, formerly held by Mrs. Miller, arrived here to-day from New York. Her flying time was 17 hours 3 minutes. She flew from Kingman, Arizona, to-day and used a large cabin monoplane. AIRMAN TO BE EXPELLED. [United Press Association—By CableCopyright.l (Received 2, 10.55 a.m.) Berne, Nov. 29. The Government has decided to expel the Italian aviator, Giovanni Buzzolesi. 'ihe expulsion is based on Buzzolesi’s entry into Switzerland without a permitA fantastic anti-Fascist 'plot to fly an aeroplane from France across the Alps to Italy and drop pamphlets attacking Mussolini, ended iu disaster. Giovanni Buzzolesi, the pilot, lost his way in a fog when returning from the successful execution of his mission, and crashed on the top of the pass just inside the Swiss frontier. Monks picked up tho pilot, who was gravely injured. The French, Swiss and Italian Governments were worried at the diplomatic possibilities of the escapade. Bussolesi fled from Italy in 1928. An official welcome was extended by the Mayor, tho county chairman, and Mr D. Jones, M.P. Oscar Garden was entertained at a luncheon by the Aero Club. The 'plane, Kia Ora, was escorted from Christchurch by five other ’planes. The airman left for Oamaru at 1.30 p.m., Captain Haigh accompanying linn.
