WAIMATE TO CHRISTCHURCH. HANDICAPS FOR LONG RACE. (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, Sept. 29. Seventy-six competitors will participate in a cycle road race from Waimate to Christchurch next Saturday, the longest road race ever held in New Zealand, a distance of 145 miles. The handicaps include; Scratch, McCann (New Plymouth), Watson, Hill, Lucey, Lamberton, S. Arnst; 20 minutes, B. Arnst, W. T. Weir, White, Fa riner •_ 25 minutes. E. Taylor (Temuka), W. K. Weir, H. Crofts. McCaskell; 30 minutes, A. M. Ralston (Otago); 35 minutes, GMugford; 40 minutes, O’Reilly and Wells (Rakaia) , 41 minutes, W. R. Gooch (Hokitika) ; 48 minutes, I) Edgar (Timaru), O. Preen (Dunedin), M. Munro (Dargaville), E. Wilson (Oamaru), L. Claffev (New Plymouth); 52 minutes, .1, J. Havill and S. Havill (Hokitika), E. Thomas (Greymouth) • 55 minutes, R. Hall (Timaru). T. L.
