ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
(Per Press Association.) Following his admission to the Palmerston North Hospital on Wednesday evening suffering from severe wounds in the throat, Norman Wheeler, of Feilding, succumbed at the institution at 5 o’clock yesterday. When admitted his condition was so serious that he was not expected to recover. He is survived by a widow but there is no family.
Arthur Donovan, aged seven years, was accidentally shot in the face at Hanmer, Christchurch, yesterday while the family were rabbit shooting. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Thomas Baden Howley, aged 30, a labourer, who was knocked down by a motor car in Ferry road, Christchurch, on Friday evening, died in hospital yesterday.
Hurt twice in the WellingtonTaranaki match on Saturday, A. E. Cooke, Wellington’s star back, eventually had to leave the field suffering from slight concussion.
