CLUE OF TWO FLOWERS

BURGLARY IN NAPIER. THIEF WORKS SYSTEMATICALLY A burglary occurred in Napier on Saturday evening, when the home of Mr. A. H. D. Mayne, Seapoint road, was broken into and silverware and cutlery valued at about £3O stolen.. Both Mr and Mrs Mayne were out for the evening and it was not until next morning that Mrs Mayne discovered the loss oi a number of silver forks, spoons and knives, all oi which were wedding presents The thief apparently worked systematically, taking only articles which made up sits and leaving odd pieces. The intruder was evidently careful as the cases from which the cutlery were taken were closed and put buck in their places. Furthei search showed that a bidrooin had been entered mid a sum of monev taken from a purse belonging to Mrs Mayne With the exception el two Howers apparently dropped from a buttonhole there was nothing to indicate, from a cursory look thnt the house had been entered,

The burglary somewhat resembles that of a fortnight ago when the residence of Mr J. Morling was entered and a fur coat stolen by someone who left no traces.
