NEWS AND NOTES. Th® fortnightly gathering of St. Columba’s Presbyterian Young People’s Club was held last evening when there was a very large attendance, including several parents. The chief attraction was a demonstration of. conjuring and sleight of hand tricks by Mr. Culver, of Hastings, whose many clever feats won words of praise and appreciation from the spectators. At the conclusion of t!»s display the Rev. R. Waugh in a brief speech thanked Mr. Culver for giving the young people such an interesting evening. The remainder of the evening was spent in games, etc. The Havelock North cemetery committee acknowledges with thanks a donation of trees and shrubs from Miss Collison,
